Lisa Black has brought her powerful energy, expertise, and passion to teaching Creative Vinyasa Yoga to thousands of people over the past 20 years. Lisa teaches with love, humor, and intelligence. Her challenging and playful method of teaching empowers each person to discover their own potential in their practice and their lives. Lisa lives in Seattle with her two children and she enjoys playing tennis, hiking, biking and skiing.

Sarah’s classes are born out of her life experience and study of the history, philosophy and science of yoga. In class, she keeps it real, sequencing movements and music intentionally (with the occasional joke thrown in). She lives to create a space where people can feel better mentally and physically.

Starla

Starla is a recent Yoga School Collaborative graduate and dedicated SOL student. She likes to teach classes that support multiple levels, incorporate balance work, have focused introspective time, and are connected thematically to the music. "Yoga expands me beyond the practice itself and connects me deeply to my other loves and pursuits." Starla is also an entheogenic facilitator, painter, wife, and mother of 2 teens.

Madzy turned to yoga for both mental and physical freedom and support. Her teaching focuses on mindfully guiding students to maintain strong alignment and breath through spirited, core-based movement while introducing playful challenges along the way. You can expect Madzy to bring creative movement, music, and mindset, while providing a space where all feel safe and supported as individuals and connected as a community.

Yvonne

Yvonne began teaching yoga in 2014 with a focus on building physical and emotional strength, and resilience for endurance athletes. Having started her own practice in 2004, Yvonne experienced the benefits of yoga for her own endurance racing performance, wellness and injury prevention, and began to teach basic principles of alignment to build the foundation for a safe and sound yoga practice that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Yvonne has since specialized in Vinyasa, Hatha and Restorative yoga. Her Vinyasa teaching style centers on uniquely themed and creative classes that are challenging, energizing, inspiring, and a little adventurous. She guides her students to safely reach their edge to evolve and feel their practice grow. Her restorative classes are a blissful practice of relaxation and rest, with lots of props to reach ultimate comfort and effective passive opening in each asana.

Kristen was drawn to yoga as a student for its promotion of self-compassion and acceptance. Now as a teacher, she aims to weave this messaging throughout her classes, and encourages a grounded awareness of the physical body by synchronizing movement with breath to a purposefully curated playlist. Kristen believes that yoga is accessible to everyone and works to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere on and off the mat.

Kelsey started practicing yoga 12 years ago when she moved to Seattle for undergrad. Yoga has consistently been a tool for stress management and to support her running, but now Kelsey would describe yoga as part of her daily routine. Last year, Kelsey completed the RYT 200-hour teacher training with Sarah at Sol Yoga. She loves the influence of music in a challenging flow, and is looking forward to bringing that dynamic to her classes. -

Angi has been a student of yoga for 10+ years and committed to her first teacher training in February 2020. Following her certification, Angi completed a trauma-informed training with local nonprofit,Yoga Behind Bars. Angi is thrilled to be a part of the SOL community and is passionate about helping make mindfulness and wellness practices inclusive and accessible for all.

Evi was born and raised in Athens, Greece and has been practicing yoga since 2000. She began her yoga journey with Ashtanga yoga as a way to improve her core strength and flexibility for rock climbing, then moved to Seattle in 2004 and fell in love with Power Vinyasa. She received her RYT-200 Yoga Alliance certification in 2009 and has been teaching, continuing her studies, and sharing her passion for yoga ever since.

Meghan began practicing yoga for its physical benefits a decade ago, but it wasn't until she joined SOL that she discovered its holistic impact. The grace she experienced within this community inspired her to pursue teaching. As a teacher, she aims to create a supportive and liberating space where individuals can be their most authentic selves, both on and off the mat.

In our fast-paced world, Tai is on a mission to help people slow down. Teaching some of SOL’s slower-paced classes, her intention is to guide you through a slow and mindful practice that connects mind, body and breath. She seeks to create an environment that is particularly welcoming and accessible to people who may be new to yoga or prefer to move more slowly (for various reasons). Tai believes that yoga is for every BODY!

Cassidy creates a container for students to feel comfortable and connected to their truest selves. Her classes are playful, accessible, and deliberate as she guides using vinyasa flow, intentional music, and a bit of humor. With 15 years of asana practice and 6 years of teaching, Cassidy maintains a student mindset, always seeking to deepen her ability to practice and share embodied movement. -

After working in the fitness industry for many years, Hannah obtained her RYT-200 Yoga Alliance certification in 2019 to dive deeper into her practice. From Los Angeles to Texas and now Seattle, she's taught in a variety of venues, including studios, breweries, corporate offices, and parks. With a strong focus on form, her classes are accessible for beginners, engaging for more advanced yogis, and welcoming to everyone! -

Jodi discovered yoga in 2009 after the birth of her second child. It wasn't until 2012 when Sol opened its doors she finally found her yoga home. In 2015 she started her first of many teacher trainings and since then has never looked back. With a background in Anusara and Baptiste yoga Jodi loves to combine power vinyasa with foundational wisdom centered on alignment and grace. More than anything she loves connecting bodies, breath and movement to music that inspires, strengthens and lifts her students up. -

SOL is Emily’s studio-home, where she recently completed her teacher training through Yoga School Collaborative. As a new teacher, she is excited to grow her guiding practice with intentionality and humility within the SOL community. Emily is a practicing poet, so her classes will always be imbued with her love of language, highlighting where poetics are at work within movement and the somatic sphere.

As a new teacher, she aims to create an experience where students can get out of their heads and find relief in movement together. Sophie loves curating rhythmic music to pair with class as well. Leah has been a yoga student for over ten years, and completed her 200 hour teacher training with SOL Yoga in 2024. Yoga has helped her manage stress, build inner and physical strength and remain more present. Leah looks forward to bringing these benefits to the SOL community through her classes.
